On the Threshold

Bomb Factory Window Gallery, Holborn

3–24 November 2025

On the Threshold by Hee Jyung Kim investigates the space between our outward appearances and the emotions that exist before words can define them.

Calm surfaces give way to turbulence beneath, as feelings of unease, self-doubt, and internal conflict emerge through twisted figures, gestural marks, and layered textures.

A recurring yellow line threads through the work, acting both as a barrier and as a threshold, marking the tension between containment and release.

Paintings, drawings, and collages are installed across the window frame as an expanded, connected composition.

From the street, viewers are placed at the threshold – between inside and outside, public and private – invited to confront emotions that stir beneath the surface, just beyond language.
